Intro to Chakra Series
Chakras which is the Sanskrit word meaning 'wheel" are a part of the subtle energy body. These chakras or energy vortexes reside along the Sushumna Nadi or main energy channel in the body which runs along the spinal column. Each one of our chakras corresponds to certain mental, emotional and physical characteristics and working to bring the energy in around these areas into balance can help us to either heighten or lessen the qualities therein. Many people who work with the chakra system tell of being able to feel as if they have their emotions and mental states under control thereby feeling more content, relaxed and comfortable in their own skin. This series works with the 7 main chakras in the body and includes breathwork, asanas and meditation created to bring awareness, balance and well-being to the space. We have combined the 6th and 7th chakras in session 6 and included a meditation on all 7 chakras. Because chakra work is subtle you may not immediately feel the effects, but if this type of work interests you we encourage you to continue to do the work as it will eventually become clearer.
